An Outlook of the Agricultural Industry in Colombia

Thanks to various elements such as the soil, climate and water resources, the country has a great variety of agro-industry products, all of which have high quality and are characterized by innovation.

This makes Colombia a very promising option for investors. Exports in these kinds of products are increasingly consolidating and expanding to new markets.

By 2013, exports to Peru had increased by USD$35 million, i.e. 20% more than the previous year. Similarly, among the countries that also increased their share are South Korea with 42%, UAE with 57%, and Canada with 27%.

Colombia also has new fair trade certified products, organic and environmental production, which differentiate it and make it a benchmark for international consumers.

Figures prove this. To date, Colombia has exported more than USD$1.7 billion to more than 120 countries, and the main destinations in the agribusiness sector are:
